Annual meeting


At the annual meeting of the Swedish Society for Town and Country Planning the board gives a report concerning the activities of the Society during the past year. The annual meeting appoints the chairman of the the board, the members of the board, the auditors, and the nominating committee. All members of the Society are welcome to take part in the annual meeting.


Board


The board of the Swedish Society for Town and Country Planning governs the Society and is accountable to the members at the annual meeting. The board includes the chairman and 10-30 members. The board appoints the vice-chairman, the secretary, and the treasurer. The chairmans of the local branches, the editor of PLAN, and the web editor of www.planering.org are additional members of the board. The full board generally have 3-5 meetings during one year. Much of the work of the board is carried out in a number of reference and working groups, task-forces, and committees. The aims and constitution of these groups may vary from one year to the next.

Executive Committee

The executive committee prepares the board meetings, and co-ordinates and is responsible for the activities between the board meetings. The committee includes the chairman, the vice-chairman, the secretary, the treasurer, the editor of PLAN, the web editor, and one of the board members on a rolling basis.

Local branches


karta-lokalavdelningar-3The Swedish Society for Town and Country Planning has six regional sections across Sweden. These local branches have their own boards, conduct their own yearly meetings and runs series of events including debates, excursions, lectures and conferences. Affiliation with a local branch is free for members of the Society. The six local branches are South of Sweden, South East of Sweden, West of Sweden, Östra Götaland, Stockholm-Mälardalen, and Umeå-Norrland.


Journal – PLAN


PLAN is a journal for debate about town and country planning. The journal is published in Swedish with English abstracts. PLAN International is published in English. Subscription of PLAN is included in the membership fee.

The content in English includes information about the Society and PLAN, and the Swedish Planning Portal – the Internet gateway to town and country planning in Sweden.


Secretariate


The secretariate is responsible for record of members, bookkeeping and administration in general incl. PLAN.
